Brookline View in Brady’s Room, 1992

Abelardo Morells still-lives give evidence of concentration,
precision and of his extraordinary level of formal capabilities.
All the more it seems peculiar to me that now and than his images of Camera Obscure projections are lacking the necessary precision.

The dinosaurs are lined up perfectly, but the outside reality superimposed on Brady’s room remains form and meaningless.

Still, these images are Abelardo Morells most direct photographic contact to the outer world.

In his photographic world there are neither streets nor cities, there is neither sorrow nor joy. Nothing in his images alludes to everyday life. Morells photographic views are beacons from the ivory tower.
